himig tomasino

December 9, 2005. It was the day of the competition, Himig Tomasino. Six colleges from the universtiy of santo tomas competed for the title of Himig Tomasino Champion for 2005. They were the college of education, pharmacy, architecture, nursing, faculty of arts and letters and the faculty of engineering. Before the end of the first semester, we, One Voice, decided we were going to enter the contest. So we started having serious practices every mondays. We made breathing exercises, vocalizations and we started studying the circle of life piece one member had. The piece was going to be the contest piece. Three years ago, One Voice last joined the said competition and they sang The Circle of Life. I think only three members from three years ago are here now for this year's competition. I guess last time, they didn't win. Engineering's last win, as they say was from eleven years ago. That was in the ear 1994. They were all male, and they won as champions. Now we relive the moment that Engineering won again! woohoo!!Though we landed on 2nd place, next to the "unbeatable" College of Pharmacy, the feeling was overwhelming. It was as if we were the champions that night. So then, I'll continue my story about the journey through Himig. hehe
